Retired ABC Camera Operator Passes

Sandy Hill, former GMA Anchor with Max Goldstein

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Max Goldstein, one of ABC’s original cameramen. In addition to traveling the country driving the ABC mobile trucks, he also worked on all of the great ABC programs such as ABC’s first color broadcasts, the Apollo Space Mission Launches, all of the ABC Sports venues including the Olympics and many of the ABC News programs. He spent numerous years working in the studios on One Life To Live and Good Morning America.

Max was known to have a quick wit and a great positive personality. On one of my first trips to the West Coast, Max & his wife Betty were so gracious in taking the time to show me around San Francisco where we had a wonderful time.

Max is survived by his wife Betty, his son Neil and daughter Stephanie. Many of you may know that Stephanie is the wife of Paul Glaser, Senior Audio for Good Morning America. Also, Max’s granddaughter Brooke is a makeup artist for GMA and Max’s other granddaughter Brittany is the audience coordinator for GMA. In addition, Max’s third granddaughter, Bridget Blythe, is an Anchorwoman for Buffalo’s WKBW-TV.

Funeral services will be held at:

on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 11:30 am.

Burial Service will follow at:
